Spindletop Photographs, 1901-1920

The Texas Energy Museum offers a photoCD containing 80+ digital images of B&W photographs of the Spindletop oil field and Gladys City boomtown from 1901 to 1910. Images include panoramic views, derricks, drilling crews, buildings, and gushers.

Cost is $30.00 and includes shipping by USPS. Prepaid orders only by check or money order to Texas Energy Museum, 600 Main Street, Beaumont, Texas, 77701.

Negatives scanned at 1200 dpi in jpeg format. Actual print resolution will depend on user’s software and hardware. Print and reproduction clarity also varies upon quality of original print. Reproduction resolution has been good to excellent up to 11” x 14” print formats for most images. For larger reproductions, please contact museum with image number for a higher resolution scan in jpeg or tiff. There is a minimum charge of $25.00 for a photo scan on CD.

Photographs are in public domain and are not copyrighted. However, use and reproduction of digital images from this CD are limited to personal, non-commercial, academic, or educational use. Permission is not required, but, where appropriate in printed materials, credit should be given to Texas Energy Museum, Beaumont, Texas.
